Who is the qualification for?
No previous experience or qualifications are required. This course provides foundation knowledge of the body, a stepping stone onto the level 4 laser qualifications.
What does this qualification entail?
This course will help you to understand how the body works through teaching main body systems and what they do. It is a government approved and accredited course and is therefore recognised by insurance companies. The assessment for this course includes one assignment and 1 multiple choice exam, which you will sit at the academy.

Who is the qualification for?
VTCT Level 4 Award in Core of Knowledge for Laser and Light Devices is a knowledge-based qualification aimed at laser, IPL and LED technicians, who need to understand how to safely and professionally provide laser and light application treatments in the medical and aesthetics industry.
What does this qualification entail?
This qualification is informed by MHRA guidance in relation to safe application of laser, IPL and LED treatments.
Throughout this qualification, learners will develop knowledge on the characteristics of laser, IPL and LED radiation and skin tissue reaction to laser, IPL and LED application. Learners will also cover hazards and precautions, safety management, safe product sourcing, risk assessments, quality assurance and relevant and associated legislation influencing the purchase and use of laser and light devices. Learners will also gain an understanding of the safe working practices required in order to protect themselves and their clients when applying laser and light devices.

The primary purpose of this qualification is to prepare learners to progress to further qualifications within the field of laser, IPL and LED application. Who is this qualification for?
The VTCT Level 4 Award in Hair Reduction using Laser Systems is an advanced therapy qualification aimed at level 3 qualified practitioners aged 18 and over, who wish to add this therapy to their repertoire of treatment offerings.
What does this qualification entail?
This qualification is informed by employers and national occupational standards for beauty therapy and includes all the required elements to work effectively as a laser systems practitioner specialising in hair reduction.
Throughout this qualification, learners will develop their knowledge and understanding of relevant anatomy and physiology and health and safety pertaining to level 4 aesthetic therapies. They will also develop the knowledge, understanding and skills to communicate, consult with and analyse clients for treatment, whilst honing their customer service skills.
